The Crown Point Vista House, 733' above the river, offers an unbeatable view of the Columbia River Gorge. Opened in 1918 as part of the nation's first planned scenic byway, the Vista House is a 55' high octagonal rotunda made of gray sandstone.
The 74 mile Historic Columbia River Highway, built on the Oregon side of the Columbia River between 1913 and 1922, was laid out to maximize the beauty of the gorge, especially the numerous waterfalls.
The Bridge of the Gods, while not a part of the scenic byway, is a great way to get to it from the Washington side of the river.
