June 28, 2013 - Good Morning, Sunshine!

Mount Rainier has yet to shed its blanket of lenticular clouds as a sun dawns over Seattle.  With nothing but sunshine forecast for the next week it will be the last blanket Washington's tallest peak sees for several days.  While officially named Mount Rainier in 1890, this volcano, the most heavily glaciated peak in the lower 48 states, was originally called Tacoma by  the native American tribe that lived in its shadow.

(Below) As the city awakes the M/V Tacoma heads past Alki Point headed to Vashon Island already on the second of what will be eleven round trips today.
